Wallaby Hunting

When you hunt wallabies (mini kangaroos), you go at night because they are nocturnal. The hunter sits in the passenger seat and the spotter sits behind. You scan the fields for wallabies and when you spot one, you keep the spot light on the animal till the hunter shoots it.

Almost a full moon
The hunter
Spotted a wallaby.....when they are spotted they tend to just sit still.

Fab Horse Ride

The day was lovely and Millie was keen to have a ride, so I got to bring her and also have a ride!
It's a great way to spend a sunny day :)

Getting ready to ride, brushing the horses down.
These are Georgia's horses. Thanks to her for making it possible to ride!
Cap'n
Jemma

Haha! Smile :D
Don't you love the view.... the dairy in the foreground with the sea in the distance! Love it :)
Dancer and Cap'n
Out in the paddocks.

Let's go!
And another amazing view of the distant mountains
Millie on Jemma and Georgia on Cap'n.
Looking back on the farm.
I got to ride Dancer
It was a fab first true horse ride :)

Brunch & Footy

We took a day out with Pip and her mates. Millie and I took the lil girls to the park.
Elsa loves the slide!
As does Millie ;)
Catch me if you can! Lydia taking a turn at chasing.
It's a bit blurry, but this was the group that met for brunch.
Pip and I. She is a wonderful lady to nanny for :)
At another footy game. Hen was a bit shy of my camera ;)
I reckon footy is a cross between American soccer and football.

Afterwards, we seized the day and took a detour to the beach because the weather was gorg!
This is also the one place you can surf in Tas. The waves were great, if only I had a wetsuit and board with me :)
In the background, there is a wind farm, which is the most NW part of the island.
Loving this winter day!
The lovely Gunningham family.
Perhaps the simple life? ;)

Day Off

On my day off, I took advantage of the fine day and went exploring! I went to snap photos of all the cool sights close by.
Newhaven Track. This is a "short cut" road.

Just another field. It's great though.....so symmetrical.

This is what Table Cape looks like when all the tulips are in bloom! Gorg eh?!

Table Cape Lighthouse

Wynyard
Boat Harbor Beach
I still love all the eucalyptus trees.
Oilseed Rape
A farm dam
Another day done.

Vaccinating the Cows

A family trip was made out of traveling to one of the farms to vaccinate the cows.
Vaccination of Salmonela is for the calves benefit. The process involves herding the cows through different gates and into the race (a small narrow, tunnel like) where they received the vaccine.

Liv was on Elsa duty for the moment.
Millie is always smiling. I reckon she is also enjoying her time! ;)

Haha! A serious cow hand ;)
Jersey/Friesian Crossbred cattle.
The crew, Matthew and his kiddos.
Afterwards, we took a walk along the beach in Penguin.

Goodnight!
