The journey started in
Ontario 》Quebec 》 New Brunswick 》Prince Edward Island (PEI) 》Nova Scotia
July 2016
Ontario
Quebec City, Quebec
This city lies along the St. Lawrence River and is the location of the War of 1812 between British America and Canada. The United States attacked in attempt to annex some of the Canadian land and in the end the primary outcome of the battle split British North America into two separate political parties.

| Quebec City where the local people speak French. It feels like you could be in a European city rather than a Canadian one. |
 |
| This picture isn't so great but it shows the wall around the "Old Quebec". It is the only walled city North of Mexico. |
 |
| The character of these streets....red roofs, whitewashed buildings next to brick building with awnings, flags and flowerpots. It is just neat! |
The Maritimes:
New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia has long coastlines and an artsy capital. New Brunswick encompasses river valleys and the Appalachian Mountains. Between them lies the Bay of Fundy, known for its extreme tides. Prince Edward Island, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, has beaches, red sandstone cliffs and a renowned culinary scene (Wiki).
Hartland, New Brunswick
 |
| The longest covered bridge in the world. It had so much character! |
St. John, New Brunswick
 |
| Reversing Falls: Because of the dramatic tide difference each day, these falls change directions depending on if the tide is in or out. When the tide is out, the water flows out and when the tide is in, the water flows in. Therefore, they have a phenomenon called "slack tide" when the water level is the same on both sides and the water is not flowing any specific direction. |

 |
| Wild roses were everywhere and the smell of them was simply lovely! |

A random local guy who turned into our tour guide and showed us around his city.

 |
| Low tide |
Due to the extreme tide swells along the Bay of Fundy, sea caves are formed. These caves are near the town of St. Martin we explored the caves by low tide. During high tide, a person would need a kayak to go check out the caves.

Prince Edward Island
Anne of Green Gables
It was the fulfillment of a little girls dream to go see the home and origin of Anne of Green Gables. The books of the spunky, fiery red headed, determined, sweet orphan Anne (with and "e") came to life on PEI. It was great to see the land that Lucy Maud Montgomery used in this fiction book. (Isn't Anne real though? ;))
When we arrived on PEI, you can see the weather was a bit rainy and dreary. However, we wanted to see a bit of the island at least and decided we must explore rain or shine. The forecast was rain for the rest of our trip in Maritimes, however we lucked out the next day when we saw patches of blue sky and the day turned out to be marvelous. We loved that kind of rain! :)

PEI ---> Nova Scotia
Oxford, NS
 |
| Most people that know me understand how much I enjoy blueberries, so when we got to the blueberry capital it was necessary to take a picture! |
 |
| Timmy's! At least once a day and this is evidence. |
 |
| Motorhome living facilitates the creation of updo's and no better way to have it while traveling. |
Cape Breton, NS
The northern peninsula of Nova Scotia has an incredible scenic drive and we embarked on it without any regrets! Totally amazing!
 |
| We took a random turn off the road and it brought us to this lobster port where "Mandy Nicole" was unloading the crates and crates of lobster. It was neat watching them do their thing and to think this is their life. It is so fascinating when it is so different from my own. |
 |
| We were definitely pleased! |
 |
| Being educated about lobster crop. |
 |
| It was a normal thing for Tada to chat to folks out the side window of the motorhome. This gentleman was from Germany and had lots to visit about. |
 |
| This cottage was "For Sale" and we were dreaming about how great of a B&B it would make! |
Black Brook Beach, NS
 |
| Red Chair Moment. There are red chairs all around the Cape Breton drive and the touristy thing is to get a photo with one. So, here it is! :) |
 |
| View from the top of the falls |
Neil's Harbour
This was the best seafood we had on the whole trip!
Pleasant Bay, NS
 |
| This was probably one of our best camp spots we had. The beach was empty until a bit later when some local people came down to the beach for a bonfire! |
Skyline Trail
Peggy's Cove, NS
Lunenberg, NS
Lunenberg is so colorful and vibrant even without the sunshine!
 |
| "In the Town of Lunenberg/ down Nova Scotia way...........Blue Nose/ the ocean knows her name/ racing every way on the sea." |
 |
| Buenose II was out sailing while we were in Lunenberg, so I had to suffice with a poster. It really can't even come close to justice though. |
