Fraser Island

Fraser Island was a pit stop adventure for the weekend before heading across the ditch to New Zealand for a month! We met up with the Skatch folks and it was a hoot even when it got cut short. View the following pics for a peek into the weekend!

The car ferry from Hervey Bay. It will be interesting driving 4x4 vehicles, but mostly fun! :)
Captain Ken ensuring that Captain Jen is not making any incorrect moves! It was great.....the ferry was on auto pilot, so no worries it was quite easy. If you accidentally steered off course then the ferry would correct itself!
The beginning of the adventures on the biggest sand island in the world!
The lovely coast line! It was a good time to cruise along.
Keeping an eye out for any unseen obstacles or water.
To our delight.....Dingo!!!!

And some more :) Right along the beach, how cool is that!?
And of course the ship wreck that continually degrades.

This was the crew! Don't you love it?! It appears that they are all having a hoot! But I'll let you decide :)
Not to be disappointed....the slack line came out again!
The beautiful sand foliage! #loveit
#gorg I know you all love the hashtags :)
Grubbin on ??? Yup chips and hot dogs! I don't know though, they may be missing their Macca's 30 centers (ice cream for $0.30) ;)
Contemplating if this is what you consider stuck! :)
Letting others figure it out! Enjoying the sand and sea instead :)
View from Champagne Pools!

View of Champange Pools....this was after the basic first aid was administered to three of the guys. They were standing on the rocks close to the sea when a wave came and took them out! Not to worry, they came out of it on the very lucky side of things :) Good thing
Enjoying the shade while they can! :)
A pit stop on our way to see the medics about Plim's arm. Pinnacle Rocks. Beautiful!

The ocean straight on! :) Gorg or awesome?! ;)
At this point we then saw the medic and he said that we must go to the hospital to get Plim's arm washed properly and stitched up. The gash was down to his muscle and because it was cut up on the rocks, we had to make sure that all the little micros and animals were washed out as to not get septic. So we all decided to head back to mainland for the rest of the wknd.

The gorgeous scenery through the bush back to the barge landing!
I reckon that their hair is getting long enough for braids. haha, they were good sports and let Bambi braid them!

Sunset back on mainland!
Sunrise the next am!
Harvey Bay Ramblers. These young friends get together every Sunday to go for a walk followed up with morning tea! So adobs :)
While at the beach, Bambi and I saw a guy catch this Blue Dot Sting Ray by accident and so we asked him to take pictures! An amazing creature eh? Weird to think that this animal killed Steve Erwin when for a career he wrestled around with crocodiles.

Tiffany not ready to get up yet!

Rainbow Beach

Hiking through the bush to Carlo Sand blow

Scribbly Eucalyptus tree!
and here we are.... the Carlo Sandblow!

It was a lovely wknd! Thanks to all the mates that came and had a great time!
