New Zealand....an inspiration for Dr. Seuss?!

True that! Whether you are traveling, commuting, skiing, visiting with a friend, watching a child laugh, listening to the sounds around you, or watching a waterfall, it's the beginning of the moment that will create a memory.

Throughout mine and Holly's time in New Zealand, we saw all types of trees, ferns and other scenery. We were constantly amazed by the vibrant colors....greens and blues mostly. There were always new sights to be amazed about and several times we would see something and ask the other if it looked like it belonged in a Dr. Seuss book. The following pictures are of things that made us think.....Dr. Seuss.
From....'Oh the Places You'll Go' Do you think?
This is taken right out of the pages of 'Green Eggs and Ham' when they are in a car, in a tree and the character says......."I will not eat them in a tree, I will not eat them in a car, I will not eat them here or there. I will not eat them anywhere!" What do you think? Agree?
Big grassy/wheat stalks! Super cool.
Golden grass against the black sand. I love the contrast and am not sure if it's Dr. Seuss style but wanted to add it regardless.
Maybe the berries look like they belong in one of his books.
Perhaps this is a black seagull? They were cool and I have never seen the likes of this bird before.
Tane Mahuta - the oldest Kauri tree in New Zealand. It's massive! Perhaps inspiration would've been gained after seeing a massive trunk leading up to......just about nothing :)

Is this in 'Horton Who Hears a Who'?
I don't remember which book this one would belong in, but maybe you could help?!
Which book do you reckon these belong in?

Another from 'Oh the Places You'll Go'

This bird is called a Weka or a bush chicken. I reckon it belongs in one of Dr. Seuss's books, don't you? :)

I think this one would for sure belong in 'Oh the Places You'll Go', however, I think it could also fit into a few others.

Fern trees?! I thought ferns only grew on the ground or on trees.
Wrong! Not in New Zealand :) So legit for Dr. Seuss?! :) I think so.

and one fern leaf is longer than Holly's arm span! They were massive.

This fern looks a little sad. I don't think it's quite to its full growth yet.

The silver fern! It is definitely the symbol of New Zealand. They were so cool and I don't know if this one would've made a Dr. Seuss book but I wanted to include it in this post anyway!
